The SRC Group of Companies started it’s journey 3 decades ago with M/s SRC Steels Pvt. Ltd. The Company had been trading in Iron & Steel products of various grades. Sri Ramesh Chander Agarwala aged about 55 years and founder of the group has a vast experience of more than 30 years in trading of Iron & Steel.

The Group Company SRC Udyog Ltd. (formarly: SRC Vyapaar Pvt. Ltd.) is the largest MOU customer of SAIL products in Eastern India. His son ,Shri Pankaj Lohariwal, an agile and painstaking entrepreneur , joined the business in the year 1998. He is looking after day to day operations of the Group Companies. The turnover of the group has increased many fold since he joined in business (from Rs.10 Millions in 1998 to Rs.5000 Millions in 2009).

The Directors are aware that with the liberalization of the iron and steel sector of the country, the industry is rapidly moving towards world-best technology, which will result in fewer carbon emissions and more efficient energy use in existing and future plants. Further, the production in the iron and steel sector has been increasing over the last 25 years.

To en-cash the opportunities in view of the demand – supply gap, the Directors have set up facilities for manufacturing M.S.Ingot through Induction Furnace Technology at Mejhia, Dist.-Bankura (W.B.). Subsequently, Re Rolling plant was set up at the same location for manufacturing structural products (200tpd.) The Flats, Angles etc. manufactured by the Company (up to 500 mm range) are quality wise one of the best products in Eastern India. VSS is an ISO-9001-2008 organization and it’s product are ISI and CE certified. The promoters have successfully implemented a project or manufacturing Ferro Alloys at Mejhia, Bankura (W.B.) of 21,500 TPA capacity.

Non conventional and Renewable Energy is another area, the Directors are pursuing. The group have already made investments in a Hydroelectric project at Darjeeling. Proposal for investment in power generation through Wind Turbines in Tamil Nadu is being actively considered.


* SRC Metalicks Pvt. Ltd. (Formarly : VSS Electrocast Pvt. Ltd.), incorporated in June,2004 is having manufacturing facility at Mejia, Bankura (W.B.) for making steel ingots of capacity 30,000 MTPA and rolled structural products of 60,000 MTPA up to 500 mm category. The Company have undertaken project for upgrading of the Induction Furnace route by manufacturing billets instead of ingots by setting up 6 x 11 m  continuous   caster ( Concast). The  products  enjoy  BIS  and  CE  certification. The  Company,  also  obtained ISO 9001:2008 certification.

* In Non Conventional & Renewable Energy sector, the Group Company have already made investment in a Hydro Power Project of capacity 3.6 MW at Darjeeling and harnessing of Wind Energy is under active consideration.

* SRC Udyog Limited (formerly SRC Vyapaar Pvt.Ltd.) incorporated in August,2002 are having a modern de-coiling facility. The Company are , at present, one of the largest MOU customer of SAIL products in eastern India. The product rages include HR Coils,chequred Coils, HR plates/chequred plate (cut to size as per specification up to thickness of 32 mm) products. The Company have successfully implemented a project for manufacturing Ferro Alloys in February,2009.

We are actively considering to double capacity of it’s Ferro Alloy Plant by 2011. Therefore, acquisition of mining rights for extraction of Manganese ores within the country or foreign venture in South –East Asia(Australia, Singapore, Philippines etc.) is being considered as a part of ‘Backward- Integration Process’.
